A Poem For My Son (Written While In Labor)
From the truest corner of my heart, I call out to you
I reach towards the sky where your spirit dwells, offering my arms and hands I promise I will catch you
I see your feet peeking through the stars, your face peeking through their light
Jump through the sacred hoop, my dearest child
I am ready to hold you and keep you safe in my embrace
We shed our fear together
We become impenetrable
Trust is absolute
We are perfectly made for each other
Jump through the sacred hoop, my child
I promise I will catch you
To hold you will be my greatest joy
My purest ceremony
My deepest gratitude
Let’s embrace this journey together as the most sacred of rituals
Like the first original life giver, Mother Earth, I give myself to the mystery
The cosmic unknown of time is our guide
We manifest life together
So jump through the sacred hoop, my child
I am ready to hold you and keep you safe in my embrace.
