Rumors of War
As yet another war unfolds before our eyes we can begin to feel a new wave of tension engulf the minds and imagination of the masses.
While human suffering is at the forefront of concerns for most citizens of the world, one can’t help but feel a great sense of anger towards those authoritarian figures that search only for power. Per usual, most of us can only speculate as to what’s truly behind any armed conflict among nations. However, some things are always certain. Those who decide to launch offensives and send other people’s children into the battlefield are the only ones who reap the spoils of war.
Mainstream media encourages us to take a certain side based on what they deem appropriate for us to know while all other narratives that divert from that which is “official” are labeled conspiracies.
What I can say about this current conflict is: I refuse to take sides! I refuse to fall into the arrogance of thinking I know what’s going on and that there’s a relationship of trust between the people and those that allegedly inform us of the facts. Land, individuals, families, economies, lifestyles, all become destabilized at the whim of elitist politicians and it’s everyday people who suffer the post traumatic stress from the outcome of their decisions. People of all ages lose their lives, sanity or all they’ve ever known and at the end of the day, after the blood of innocent people is spilled… elitist men in tuxedos will shake hands and come to new agreements that serve their own interests.
So I pray for all the families. All the victims. All those who have to fight to live.
I was explaining to my daughter that no matter the side, we pray for them. In past wars, soldiers fought under false pretenses and lies of their own governments while thinking they were doing the right thing for their country only to be traumatized and injured in their service… we the people are never truly informed of the facts. So we pray for all the victims wars create and ask that aggressors come to know the power of the people’s justice.
And for us, all of us, the solution is always the same. Learn. Learn to cultivate food. Learn to defend yourself. Learn the system. Detach from dependency.
Land and Freedom. As our ancestors taught us.
