Jaguar Karma

Keepsake Box Instructions- Jaguar Karma tutorial.

Supplies:
- Wood Box
- Acrylic paint of your color choice
- Brushes
- Scrap Fabric
- Glue/Mod Podge
- Scissors
- Book/Magazine Cutouts
- Fiber Fill
- Clear Lacquer Spray (Optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Place your scrap fabric under the box with the print facing down and draw an outline.
- Cut fabric outside of the outline providing about ½ inch extra space and save for later.
- Apply a generous coat of glue on the inside of the box.
- Evenly apply the fiber fill on the base of the box and fill to desired height. About half way is usually just right.
- Place scrap fabric on top of fiber fill and press down while tucking in the fiber fill under the fabric.
- Apply glue/mod podge along the sides of the inside of the box while stretching out the fabric and covering its sides. Use as much glue as needed under the fabric to secure it in place. (Cutting the fabric from the edges towards the middle and then around the edges of the box helps this process.)
- Once the fabric is in place and excess has been cut, apply glue along the sides of the fabric to prevent loose threads then allow the glue to dry.
- Paint all sides and edges of the box as desired and allow it to dry. You can cover the fabric and fill with painters’ tape of any cover of your choice if needed.
- Finally add your cut outs by applying a coat of glue/mod podge under the image and arrange them to decorate as desired and allow it to dry.
- *Optional- Coat the outside of the box with clear lacquer spray to better preserve paint and applied cutouts. Once it’s dry, it’s ready to use!
Note: Some of these steps can be applied in different order depending on the flow of inspiration. I myself freestyled the first project and then realized there could be a more effective order to execute and streamline the process. In the spirit of making this process easy to share and follow.
